Taxpayer Liaison Officer  ( TLO )

If you have concerns or need additional information on the Appraisal District or taxing unit operations, you may visit the appraisal office or file a written inquiry to the person below. However this District has no actual Taxpayer Liaison Officer (TLO), as not required in a county of less than 120,000 in population.  The TLO in counties of more than 120,000 in population is appointed by the Board of Directors and acts as an intermediary between the property owner and the Board in accordance with the Texas Property Tax Code (Sec. 6.052).

The TLO would help in resolving issues or formal complaints regarding the Board of Directors, the Appraisal Review Board, the district, or any employees.  They can provide information on assisting the taxpayers.

The Mitchell County does not have a TLO that is a full time employee. However, by emailing, calling, or written request the person acting similar to a TLO will respond to inquiries or complaints. Mitchell County is not required to have a TLO yet has instead appointed a intermediary person to be a go between for property owners and the Board of Directors. Also they are go between for the district judge and the appraisal district on appraisal board member appointments.

The current intermediary in charge of such request is Linda McSpadden (for TAX Code purposes is not a TLO, as not required in Mitchell County)
